Are you an Explorer Scout or Network member aged 16–25 looking to complete the Residential section of your Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or King’s Scout Award?
Join us at 🏕️ Jubilee Scout Campsite this summer for a structured, fully compliant, and rewarding residential experience. You’ll gain new skills, meet new people, and play a key role in supporting a busy campsite.

📌 You must attend a continuous residential period to meet award requirements.
🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing
During your stay, you’ll be part of the campsite team:
- 👷 Assisting wardens with day-to-day site operations
- 🔧 Supporting campsite services and maintenance
- 👋 Welcoming and helping visiting groups
- 🎯 Running simple daytime activities
- 🤝 Helping create a safe and positive experience for all
🌙 The Residential Experience
This is a shared, group-based residential, not just volunteering:
- 🍳 Evening activities such as cooking meals together, team challenges, and social time
- 🧑🤝🧑 Working and living as a team
- 📵 Structured, purposeful evenings (not just free time on phones)
⛺ Accommodation & Living
- ⛺ Tentage accommodation provided on-site
- 🛏️ Catering facilities provided on site
- 🎒 Be prepared for a full outdoor camping experience
✅ Meeting DofE Residential Requirements
This programme is designed to fully meet the Gold DofE Residential criteria:
- 🏠 Minimum 5 days / 4 nights away from home
- 🌍 Unfamiliar residential setting
- ⛺ 🛏️ Shared accommodation (tentage on-site)
- 👥 Minimum 5 participants per residential group (excluding staff/service crew)
- 🎯 Purposeful daytime AND evening activities
- 🧾 Each residential will have a named assessor responsible for sign-off
- ✔️ Must be approved in advance by your Licensed Organisation
⚠️ Important Participation Notes
- 🚫 You cannot attend as a full group from the same Explorer Unit
- 👥 Groups will be arranged to ensure a mix of participants
- 📋 You must discuss and agree this with your DofE Leader before applying
💷 Food & Practical Arrangements
- 💰 Cost: £15 per day (paid in advance)
- 🛒 Funds will be pooled and returned to your group to plan and buy food together
- 🍝 You’ll cook and manage meals as a team
- ✅ Paying in advance helps secure your place and ensures minimum numbers are met
🔐 Safeguarding & Admin
- 📄 Appropriate NAN forms required where under 18s and over 18s are mixed
- 🧑✈️ Supported by experienced wardens and leaders

Participants must:
